1. Local-first by design
Orbit is built to keep your work close to the machine and the people who own it. Your workspaces, projects, configuration, and activity history are stored locally on your computer. Orbit does not require an account, and it does not require your code to be uploaded to our servers for the product to work.
2. Data we process
Orbit processes the information you give it in the course of using the product, including:
- Workspace paths, project names, and configuration you set up.
- Activity events generated by your agents, terminals, and approvals.
- Preferences and settings stored on your device.
This information stays on your machine unless a feature you enable requires otherwise.
3. Data we don't collect
Orbit does not, by default, collect telemetry, usage analytics, or diagnostics. There is no built-in tracking of your behavior inside the product.
4. Network requests
Some features make network requests, each of which you can review or disable:
- Fonts. The interface loads fonts from Google Fonts. When you load Orbit, your browser may send a request to Google's servers.
- Model providers. If you connect Orbit to an AI model provider, prompts and context you send to that provider are governed by that provider's privacy policy.
- Runtimes and integrations. Services you choose to integrate with receive only the data required for the actions you initiate.
5. Cookies and storage
Orbit uses local storage on your device to remember your preferences and UI state. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising identifiers.
6. Data retention and deletion
Because your data is stored locally, you are in control of it. Uninstalling Orbit or deleting its data directory removes the data Orbit stores. Data you send to third-party providers is subject to their retention policies.
7. Your rights
Since Orbit holds your data locally, you can access, export, or delete it at any time directly on your machine. Where applicable law grants additional rights, contact us and we will help as far as we can.
8. Children
Orbit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Material changes will be announced within the product.
